A Homeowners Checklist for Spring Cleaning!

The Inspection Boys are ready for the Spring Season! During this time, it is a good idea to check your home inside and out for any repairs/maintenance that needs to be done. Some things you can check around your home is;

  • Checking your electrical outlets for potential fire hazards;
  • Making sure your multipurpose fire extinguisher is filled and ready for operation; Checking your air conditioner for any build up from the winter;
  • Clean and/or replace filters throughout your home;
  • Check and replace all smoke detector batteries and test them frequently (make sure there is one on each level of your home);
  • Paint the exterior of your home for a fresh and new feel of your home;
  • Checking for damage on your roof;
  • Cleaning your gutters for any debris build up from the Fall/Winter;
  • Removing dead trees, plants, and bushes from your yard and planting new ones in their place;
  • Inspect the caulking around doors and windows to make sure that no air is escaping;
  • Oil tracks for garage doors;
  • Clean your dryer vent;
  • Maintaining tree limbs hanging over utility wires and trimming when needed;
  • Starting/running your lawn equipment;
  • Check your deck for any wear and tear; and
  • Repair any cracked/uneven driveways and walkways to provide a level walking surface.
